FULL DESCRIPTION
This is a relaxed, self-guided transparent kayak experience at Anse Source D’Argent beach, designed for guests who want time on the water without a fixed itinerary. You’ll paddle at your own pace over calm, clear waters, enjoying the reef below. The experience is ideal for solo travelers, couples, and anyone looking for a peaceful, flexible way to explore La Digue’s coastline.

After a short briefing, you’ll head out in a transparent kayak and begin exploring the reef independently. There’s no guide on the water, so you’re free to move slowly, stop when you like, and enjoy the surroundings in your own time. As you glide over the reef, you can look down into the water to observe marine life beneath you, and you may even spot sea turtles if conditions allow.

During your time on the water, our team will point out scenic areas and popular photo spots so you know where to paddle for the best views. A complimentary 5-minute photo session with our staff is included, giving you a few professionally taken memories of your experience without interrupting your time on the kayak.

Once back on shore, you’ll enjoy a Coconut Opening Experience. Our team will show you how locals open coconuts and explain the techniques used to access the fresh water and meat. You’ll have time to relax, sip the coconut water, and take in the atmosphere of Anse Source D’Argent.

This experience is best for guests who are comfortable kayaking on their own and prefer a calm, unstructured activity. It’s not guided and does not include a set route, making it ideal for those who value independence and a slower pace. The combination of transparent kayaks, local support, and added touches like photos and coconut opening makes this a simple, enjoyable way to experience the coast without feeling rushed.

What you need to know before you go

STARTING TIME
The transparent kayak rental start time varies daily, depending on the tides, and generally falls between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please note that the start time may shift up to one hour earlier or later than initially planned, as tours are tide and weather dependent. During low tide, water levels in the lagoon may be too low for kayaking, which is why timing can only be confirmed closer to the date.

DOUBLE SEATED KAYAKS ONLY
All kayaks are double, meaning they are designed for two people. The price is charged per seat, not per kayak. If you book as a single individual, you will be paired with another single participant to share the kayak.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
This activity is designed for families with kids, people of different ages, and those who can or cannot swim.

WHAT TO BRING
We recommend you bring beach accessories, a waterproof bag, reef shoes, etc. This is not obligatory to participate in the tour.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. Your safety is important to us.

VALUABLES AND LUGGAGE
Be aware that we are not responsible if your belongings get wet, lost, or damaged during the tour.
